Skyfall

I really wanted to see this film as it was highly anticipated. What I loved aswell the fil was made in 2012,year of Great Britain,Olympics, and now James Bond!
The cast of the film was brilliant Dame Judy Dench, and Daniel Craig- fantastic British actors.

What I loved about the film was the action packed, exciting, edge of your seat, easy to follow storyline.
The music fits this film so well as having an amazing singer like Adele to sing the title song.
The only DOWNFALL (see what I did there?) to this film was the ending was slightly predictable as I kind of knew what was going to happen in the end half way through.
But other than that it was amazing ,the music created the atmosphere throughout the entire film.
Also there was abit of  humour during the film mainly because James Bond's been around for 50 years. So there was a little humour ,and references from the old films.
I would recommend this film for any Bond fan or over the age of 12 as it does have a few violent scenes, but Bond films are like that. Also anyone who wants to go to the cinema to have a good time really.

Thankyou for reading this review ,hope to post more in the future!

The Five Year Engagment

Jason Segel (How I met your mother) and Emily Blunt (knocked up) star in this realistic rom-com. Most rom-coms I know usually end up not having that much comedy and usual romance. Segel, a chef  bursting in the burst of his career, proposes to his girlfriend after a year but their marriage is postponed due to different reasons, including moving from NYC to a frosty Michigan, for his lovers carerr. Both start to doubt their lives and if their marriage will happen. But with classical wedding jokes and moments and a nice romantic ending it is a good film, if you want to watch a rom- com. Now on DVD.

Danie Darco

It’s not often that a film begins with a troubled adolescent being tempted into the night by a 6 foot tall bunny rabbit who announces that the end is nigh, while a jet engine appears out of nowhere and falls directly on to his room. But these are the circumstances in which the titular character of Richard Kelly’s twisted masterpiece Donnie Darko is introduced to us.
It doesn’t get any more normal from here on in, and it soon becomes clear that all in not right in Donnie’s (Jake Gylanhaal) world. The sinister self-help guru Jim Cunningham (Patrick Swayze) appears on the scene, a mysterious book called The Philosophy of Time Travel seems to mirror Donnie’s experience of the world and the afore mentioned bunny rabbit encourages him to perform unspeakable acts. Who is Frank?
I must admit it takes a while to understand the whole of the film, but this means that you pick up on different ideas with each viewing. Kelly’s movie works on so many levels, on the one hand it’s the tale of the repressive forces operating in a typical American high school (a teacher is sacked for teaching the “pornographic” novel); but alternatively it’s the coming of age story of a troubled teen who struggles with mental illness and rejoices at a blossoming first romance; on a deeper level still it poses existential questions about whether our lives are pre-determined. It’s not genre-bending, it completely does away with the whole concept of genres and goes for something much more idiosyncratic.

The acting is terrific (Gylanhaal steals the show), the music coupled with the emotional intensity of many scenes will undoubtedly move even the most heartless viewer, and Kelly’s directing brings a dream-like quality to proceedings.

Very good, but don't be suprised if you get confused as I did 7 / 10

Taken 2

The first one was hardly brillient and this one isn't better! Taken 2 is about the reverse of the first, with the daughter doing the rescuing. Now the principal sex trafficker's  father, who is a Balkan villain Rade Sherbedgia, tries to get revenge on Mills and abducts him and his wife in Istanbul. Their daughter is left to do the rescuing. With little plot it depends what you are want as there are some good (but unrealisitic) chases and gunfights but they don't make up for the lack of structure.

Woman In Black

I know this film was out in November last year, but this film is perfect for Halloween also the past two reviews posted on this blog were mainly horror films and the run up to Halloween it's perfect.

I thought this film was absolutely brilliant as it shows Daniel Radcliffe( famous for Harry Potter) portrays a brilliant grown up character. Also this film made me scared and gave me nightmares even though I know what happens in the end I still get spooked out by it.
This film has all the ingredients for a horror film, great actors, wonderful storyline, and a lot of jumpy bits. When I mean that I mean ALOT.
Also this film made me more scared than I would if I was watching a 15, and this film is a 12.

Don't think this film will be a walk in the park because Daniel Radcliffe ( famous child star) will be in it. Don't think it won't be scared because its a 12.  Believe me it is I'd recommend this for people who just want to go and be brave at the cinema or just even a Halloween night in. Regardless of what your doing this Halloween me and jack hope you have a wonderful Halloween.
Thank you for reading this blog this far.

Paranormal Activity 4

So the reviews to this film are very bad as this is true. I think that they could've done a better job as most of the time I was laughing at the majority of the film mainly the supposedly 'scary' bits which turned out to be funny.

When I see a horror film I expect to be scared to go to sleep the next night. Not spent hours laughing at the bits which weren't scary but funny.
Also this film and in the past 3 has had a lot of hype due to the success of the other ones, I personally was disappointed with the lack of scary bits. This film is definatley a film which is aimed at people who just want to go with there friends ,and also film reviewers as this is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of the films out in the cinema. Please when you do go to see this film DO NOT EXPECT TO BE SCARED!! Also I think if your a fan otpf the other ones then I think watching this film will definatley be is film for you

Thank you for reading this film review this far let me know what sort of film me and jack should watch next thank you

Sinister

 Sinister   7 / 10

Director: Scott Derrickson
Produced by: Jason Blum
Running Time: 110 Mins.
Budget: $3 million.

This Film as all the ingredients for a horror film, building suspense, scary faces in the background, gruesome murders and possessed children. The trouble is I've eaten that cake a few times. I didn't find this particularly scary, at moments sure I jumped but I drifted to sleep fine that night. This film has the same elements as Insidious, a new family in a new house and possessed children. It starts with a set of old Super 8 clips, the first one shows a family, including young children being hung from a tree and goes on to other horrific slightly perverse murders. the ending ids good as you don't expect it to be result it is ... There are better films if you want to be terrified however for a horror film it has quite funny parts.

The Campaign

The Campaign   6.5 / 10

With the american presidential race happening at the moment many people may be looking for a classic political satire film. This movie starrs Will Ferell and Zach Galifianakis. It's a reasonable comedy, with some great laugh out loud moments. This film doesn't mean to be anything particularly sophisticated. Parts of it are quite entertaining.

Ferrell plays the appalling Congressman Cam Brady campaigning to be re elected. He's a loathsome married womanizser whose becomes unpopular when he drunk calls a conservative christian family expecting it to be a girl of his who likes .. some saucy talk. (hilarious moment!) His rival, overweight, camp local tourism chief Marty Huggins (Galifianakis) pitches against him. The campaign gets very nasty "War has rules, mud wrestling has rules. Politics has no rules". If you're looking for a serious political observation then watch the News, this isn't the right film. Also if you will find a baby being comically hit offending, then avoid.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I wanted to watch this film so,so,so,so much!!!!

This film had a lot of hype ,and expectation to it seeing as Harry potter's Emma Watson stars as the love interest in the film. But I throughout the whole film there are some lighthearted, funny memorable characters. This film is a must see!

It's basically about this guy called Charlie who starts high school after a tricky summer,as his best friend kills himself. At first he finds it hard to fit in,but then he meets Sam and Patrick. Who changes his high school experience for the first year.

With all it's funny, witty characters comes the serious side to it all. The sound track to the film was simply wonderful, as I love listening to that kind of music ,this film is up my street! I thought this film was funny, entertaining, charming.  I would recommend this film to anybody of any age, gender, sexuality whatever the case. This film will lead you in a good mood! I hope you enjoyed this film as
much as I did.

Thank you for reading this film review this far.

Anna Karenina

Anna Karenina. (7.5 / 10)

  1. Cert (UK): 12A
  2. Runtime: 130 mins
  3. Directors: Joe Wright
  4. Cast: Jude Law, Keira Knightley, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Alexandra Roach, Bill Skarsgard, Domhnall Gleeson, Emily Watson,
This film is set in aristocratic Russia during the 1870's. Based on Leo Trotsky's 950 page book Joe Wright (Pride and prejudice) has fabulously made sure this film is not boring at all, at any moment! He has very cleverly based the story around a Russian theatre in the 1870s. Apparently his intention was 'to create a large-scale image of upper-class tsarist society.' This can be a little confusing at first but you very soon understand. Anna Karenina (Kiera Knightly) bored with her life, falls for dashing count Vronsky (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). Shunned from her society for committing adultery the film is about her struggle whether she should or should not go with the Count. When she does (I haven't spoiled anything there its very obvious) it is about her, her family and her communities  reaction.

Knightly delivers a strong and moving performance, as do all of the actors. Coupled with moving music (I loved the Violins) and stunning photography and costumes, as well as the added twist of the use of the Russian stage. If you love Love stories and drama this is a must. But be careful there are no high speed car chases so you may have to compromise with whoever you see it with. The only possible fault I have is that sometimes what the screen looks like can sometimes take priority over the substance.

Anna Karenina (Espanol)

(Cos I am Bilingual ;) Please post if there are any mistakes i'm trying to learn, and if you like it more Spanish to follow.)

The Watch Film Review

This film is a very funny ,but not light hearted comedy sc-fi staring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaugnn ,Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade. This film is defiantly a laugh out loud comedy ,but it does have very boyish inbetweeners behaviour. But we thoroughly enjoyed this film it does have some slight serious sides to it aswell. Also it takes some serious situations ,and sad ones ,and turns it around to make it seem like a joke ,but not overdoing it.

It's basically about a man named Evan ,and he is very much involved in the community of his area. Until one day he came to work ,and found somebody in the area has been killed where he worked. He immediately takes action ,and goes to create "The Neighbourhood Watch" where he meets Bob, Franklin, and Jamarcus. But overall we really enjoyed the sad elements ,and comedic elements the film had also the memorable characters it provided. I would recommend this film to anybody up for a laugh or just want to see it with their friends.

Please Follow this blog for more updates from different films me and my friend Jack will posting weekly. Thank you for reading this first blog post.
